
Naturalization
There are three (3) different types of American Citizenship, Citizenship by Birth, by automatic acquisition and by naturalization. What are the requirements for citizenship?
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Reside continuously in the United States for a minimum of 5 years or only 3 years as a resident, if the person is married to a citizen spouse and lives with that person for the past 3 years.
• Be present in the United States for a minimum of 30 months of the 5 years immediately preceding the date of filing your application.
• Be living in the United States from the date you file your application until the time of naturalization.
• Good moral character; Good conduct
• Be familiar with the history and process of the United States government.
• Read, write and speak basic English.
